OASIS Boxes on Their Way to Bring Clean Water to Rural Yemen

EADP’s mission to bring clean water and sustainable development to Yemen has taken the next ‎step. Our collaboration project with Bondh e Shams–the Solar Water Project–has is finally ‎underway. As announced last fall, EADP has undertaken efforts to provide three villages in rural ‎Ibb, Yemen, with clean water. An OASIS box–a custom-made, durable, and high-tech water ‎pumping, filtration, and storage system–will provide more than 600 families will clean water daily ‎and showcase the strengths of decentralised technologies. ‎

We thank our invaluable donors who have helped us make this vision possible–the OASIS box is ‎finally on its long journey to Yemen. In mid-April, it left its origin, Pakistan, and is en route to ‎Oman, where it will be reloaded onto a lorry and travel the last mile towards Ibb overland. ‎However, EADP’s gratitude is not just a matter of words. We are thrilled to announce that the ‎project has received donations and funding exceeding $US 20,000, enabling us to send a second ‎OASIS box. Besides Ibb, more than 250 families in war-torn Taiz will soon receive clean water from ‎another water station. ‎

EADP will update its donors and friends once both boxes have arrived at their final locations and ‎are fully operational. This progress would not have been possible without our generous ‎supporters, whom EADP thanks once more for becoming a part of the mission to shape ‎sustainable development in the Middle East. ‎
